I have had this podcast lying on my desktop for a little while now, with the intention of sharing it on a blog post. Record Number of Freelancers Looking for Work
I am not sure if anyone has noticed but I am finding that job ads I place on freelance websites are getting record number of applications from high quality applicants. The response rate has never been this high since I started recruiting freelancers as far back as 2005. I mean the ratio of low quality applications to really high quality ones used to be about 5:1 (that is for every five low quality service providers there was a decent service provider) but now the ratio of low quality to high quality service providers I find is about 1:5 – the reverse!
I am finding it really difficult short listing candidates, let alone award projects.
Are these symptoms of the recession?
Or is there an impending glut of high quality service providers?
Whatever the situation, I am building a database of quality service providers I can contact in times of emergencies.

This is the first of hopefully many posts on our blog. The core focus of this blog is marketing on the Internet. Our objective is to enable you better understand what we do as consultants and to enable you understand how the web can positively impact on developing your business.
The effects of web marketing would be largely dependent on the web marketing channels you utilise as well as type of business and sector your company belongs to.
